Cenotes Chac and Mool and Kukulkan

Cenote Chac Mool and Kukulkan are part of a cenote system. Located 28km south of Playa Del Carmen, the dive site for these cenotes also has clean toilets and a nice café for you to enjoy before or after your dive. The actual dive itself is nothing to sneeze at either. On days where the sun is shining, you’ll be treated to beautiful beams of light, as well as haloclines and thermoclines. This pair of cenotes make a popular diving site in Mexico and for very good reason.

If you know where to look within Chac Mool, and you’re with an experienced dive master, there are pockets of crystals which can be found within the cenote. The cenote also contains stalagmites and stalactites which will completely dazzle you as skeleton trees trace their way down into the water from the surface, slightly dream like in the crystal-clear water. It’s worth noting that cameras aren’t allowed in either of the cenotes, in order to protect the beautiful rock formations that they hold.

This gem of a dive is considered one of the easiest and most beginner friendly cenote dives a person can take, containing coral and shells up to 2.5 million years old.
